MÁLAGA, Spain – The Nigeria Women Association, Málaga (NWAM) has elected new set of executives to run the activities of the body for the next two years.
The election which took place at the Alberto Jiménez Fraud Library in Málaga, on Friday, 2nd June 2017, saw Mrs. Christiana Nwokeji-Asiegbu returned as the president of the association, after defeating Mrs. Monica Aizotoigbe with 14 votes to 8, who automatically becomes the Vice President of the association.
Others also elected unopposed for the same tenure including Mrs. Queen Eghosa (Secretary), Mrs. Patience Okeke (Treasurer), Mrs. Patience Ojo (Provost), Mrs. Sandra Omoyemwen (PRO), Mrs. Roseline Nwadike (Welfare), and Mrs. Maris Njoku [Amina] (Welfare).
In an interview with members and executives of the association, they thanked the president, Mrs. Christiana for her efforts so far in carrying them along with other activities of the association. They said they are solidly behind her during the next tenure.
In her acceptance speech, the president, Mrs. Christiana thanked members for the confidence reposed in her and her team to run the affairs of the Association for the next two years.
She also reiterated the commitment of her executives toward moving the association forward.
“My commitment to the association is not in doubt because, for the past six years, I have been the president of this association. It is a terrain that I know and understands very well, and we hope to take the association to a higher level”, she said.
Earlier in an interview with the president, she commended her executive as well as other members of the association for their unalloyed support that saw many achievements.
She promised to remain diligent and focused in the pursuit of taking the association to a greater level. She urged the new executives to do live up to expectation. More Photos below…
