You have heard of helps offered by family members, relatives, colleagues and friends if I should ask you these questions – Have you heard of help being rendered from an enemy? I mean not just help but unbelievable and unimaginable help desperately needed? Help coming not from any other but the very attacker?

I think your answer will be a capital “NO”. It is not possible for the very enemy wanting to destroy you to turn around in the very operation to help you. But I want to tell you today that IT IS POSSIBLE!

You may ask me how? How is that possible? So do you want to know? Ok this is how it happens.

An enemy can actually become a helper to his victim only when he is being ambushed by God.”

“When God set ambush game plans change.”
“When he set ambush riches change hands.”
“When He sets ambush unbelievable helper appears.”

Les Brown said “There are people that have taken it as their personal responsibility to stop you from achieving your dreams in life”.

This sermon is going to reveal the glory and the judgment of God in those circumstances that have been troubling your peace.

It is also going to reveal God’s might to set ambush against all your enemies causing them to bring you unbelievable help that will result to your victory.

Ambush is defined by dictionary as a surprise attack by people lying in wait in a concealed place. It is an attack on the attacker.

1After this, the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunitesa declared war on Jehoshaphat. 2Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army from Edomb is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea.c They are already at Hazazon-tamar.” (This was another name for En-gedi.)

3Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting. 4So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help.

5Jehoshaphat stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front of the new courtyard at the Temple of the Lord. 6He prayed, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are the God who is in heaven. You are ruler of all the kingdoms of the earth. You are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you! 7O our God, did you not drive out those who lived in this land when your people Israel arrived? And did you not give this land forever to the descendants of your friend Abraham? 8Your people settled here and built this Temple to honor your name. 9They said, ‘Whenever we are faced with any calamity such as war,d plague, or famine, we can come to stand in your presence before this Temple where your name is honored. We can cry out to you to save us, and you will hear us and rescue us.’

10“And now see what the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir are doing. You would not let our ancestors invade those nations when Israel left Egypt, so they went around them and did not destroy them. 11Now see how they reward us! For they have come to throw us out of your land, which you gave us as an inheritance. 12O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”

13As all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives, and children, 14the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. His name was Jahaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph.

15He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. 17But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

18Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low with his face to the ground. And all the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the Lord. 19Then the Levites from the clans of Kohath and Korah stood to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud shout.

20Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”

21After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:

“Give thanks to the Lord; His faithful love endures forever!”

22At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves. 23The armies of Moab and Ammon turned against their allies from Mount Seir and killed every one of them. After they had destroyed the army of Seir, they began attacking each other. 24So when the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, all they saw were dead bodies lying on the ground as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped.

25King Jehoshaphat and his men went out to gather the plunder. They found vast amounts of equipment, clothing,e and other valuables—more than they could carry. There was so much plunder that it took them three days just to collect it all! 26On the fourth day they gathered in the Valley of Blessing,f which got its name that day because the people praised and thanked the Lord there. It is still called the Valley of Blessing today.

The Children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 2 Chronicles 20:23.

This is an unbelievable help. They became unbelievable helper’s to Jehoshaphat and his people.

The work that would have been done by Jehoshaphat and his men were done on their behalf. They didn’t loss any life, properties or strength it was all done and paid for by their enemies.

Joseph’s brothers were unbelievable helpers to him. We know the story quite well; the bible says his brothers were jealous of him never happy with and nickname him the dreamer. The wickedness they had grew day by day until they decided to help me. They thought they were going to kill his dreams, they thought they were going to destroy him but little did they know that were becoming unbelievable helpers.

Joseph himself put it this way “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:20.

I paraphrase it this way “but as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it that you become my unbelievable helpers.

“When He sets ambush riches change hands.”

After their enemies have helped to destroyed themselves it was time for gathering of the spoil. They found among them IN ABUNDANCE both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. 2 Chronicles 20:25.

God is a God of judgment whenever He carries out an ambush riches and power changes hands.

Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 1 Chronicles 29:12.

So therefore the riches that have been stolen from you and whatever pain or troubles the enemies have caused you will be recovered.

3. IT BRINGS A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. 2 Chronicles 20:30. Pslam 4:7-8.

So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest round about. 2 chronicles 20:30.

When the lord set an ambush on your behalf the result is a good night sleep. Some cannot lie down and sleep because there is fire on the mountain. Attacks from every side and any little closing of the eyes amounts to dead.

You have filled my heart with great joy. It is greater than the joy of people who have lots of grain and fresh wine. I will lie down and sleep in peace. Lord, you alone keep me safe.

These are the words of David thanking God after God gave him victory over his enemies. There are differences between lying down and lying down and sleep. Not everyone that lies down to sleep that can sleep. Their eyes are wide open because of attacks all over and any attempt to close their eyes to sleep they are dead.

But our God is here! His ambush has come and you can lie down and sleep. Don’t worry anymore because your very attackers are your security guards. Remember these words again “When God ambushes game plans change” Everything has changed for your good, GO TO BED!

This is a very important question because God will not set ambush for anybody but for somebody. The Lord will only set ambush for those who have yielded to his calling.

Let’s see how one could obtained the ambush of God to his favor.

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

There was certainly a sense in which Jehoshaphat feared the great multitude coming against him. Yet the sense here is that he feared the Lord and was more awed at the power and majesty of God than at the destructive force and house hold enemies. You should learn to fear the Lord for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

There is a paradox which says “fear the lord and not be afraid of him” You fear him because he is a God of judgment and mighty in battle. While you shouldn’t be afraid of him because he is a loving father as the scripture says GOD IS LOVE.

“The fear of the lord will result to Joy like a river while that of an enemy will result to sadness like a river.”

The fear of the Lord will drive you to obey him and live by his precept. When this is the case his overwhelming grace appears and your Joy flows like a river. However that for the enemy is slavery.

Tao de ching once said “If you wait for man’s approval you will become their slave.”

Due to the fear you will be manipulated; sent an errand and then ambush you on the way.

Pray here: Every ambush set on way by your enemies may they receive the ambushment of God in Jesus name.

Jehoshaphat seeks the Lord. This is a key word in his reign, where it has the basic meaning of WORSHIP, but also means to discover God’s will.

A. Through prayer and fasting.
B. Through worship.

And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. Verses 22a.

Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. 2 Chronicles 19:3.

Jehoshaphat sanctifies his kingdom setting himself for the lord alone. He removed the wooden images from the land. All the polluting sex and religious shrines and focus on God with all his heart.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13.

…believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. Verses 20d.

Living by his precept entails you obeying the fundamental principles of daily living. Jesus summarizes it into two; love to God and love to your neighbor. It is when you obey them that his favor will definitely locate you.

An enemy can actually become a helper to his victim only when he is ambushed by God.

When you choose to be an enemy to someone the same is applicable to you.

The proverbs says “Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways……. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesses the habitation of the just. Proverbs 3:29-33.

You might have been an adversary to someone or you are planning to be one “Abandon that plan.” Cease to support or plan evil against God’s Children or you will also receive God’s ambush.

My dearly beloved, stop thinking like a child be like babies as far as evil is concerned. But be grown up in your thinking.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2. This is the word of God to you. I am speaking not to your flesh but to the real you which is your spirit. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not learn on your own understanding. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. Abandon those plans to hurt your neighbors, abandon those plans to cause untold hardship to that friend, stop being a stumbling block to people’s dreams, instead lift up your brother and give a helping hand.

Do you see it wise to need more enemies? What kind do you want rich or poor?

Since when I obey God and live by the fundamental principles of life he stipulates in the bible then my battles come his. Then off course I will need more enemies because when God finishes ambushing them wealth, power and honor will change hands.

“MY ENEMIES PLEASE BE RICH” So I will have much after you have been ambushed.

IT’S YOUR RIGHT TO ENJOY YOUR MARRIAGE, YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR WIFE, YOUR CHILDREN AND THE LABOUR OF YOUR HANDS. All you need do is to trust God, believe his son Jesus and live by the Spirit.

Remember again “An enemy can actually become a helper to his victim only when he is being ambushed by God.
